Alora Baltkois, BSW, MSW
Alora is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Alora holds a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in children and their families. Alora also holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Trent University.
 
In her practice, Alora adopts a trauma-informed, strength-based lens, while frequently incorporating techniques from cognitive-behavioural therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness in her work with clients.
 
Alora has had previous work experience with at-risk youth who experienced a variety of mental health issues as well as various forms of trauma. Through this role, Alora offered informal counselling, assistance with emotional regulation, advocated for youth needs and wants, and offered support with life skill sessions and recreational activities.
 
Alora has also had experience working in an outdoor setting with youth and adults with exceptionalities where an animal therapy approach was utilized.
 
Through her volunteer work, Alora has assisted youth and adults in crisis through a crisis hotline and has supported in helping young parents access various supports such as clothing, food and various other supplies to support their families.
In her free time, Alora enjoys staying active through activities such as soccer, hockey, running, and hiking. Alora also enjoys spending time with family, friends and her two cats.
